The Second Annual Dancing with the Hawk Stars competition benefitting the Carroll Walters/ Fran Beckett Scholarship fund is on Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m., in the Hoffman Estates High School gymnasium.
“Hoffman Estates High School students are already fired up with excitement for a night of dance fever,” said Barb Nocula of the World Language Department.
Each couple is composed of a senior student and staff member. Although the dancers have their eyes on the mirror ball trophy, other prizes will be awarded in the categories of “Best Costume,” “Best Original Dance” and “Best Teamwork.” Winners are chosen by a combination of pre-voting, audience vote and judges scores.
The event is sponsored by the Student Council and is open to the public. Tickets are $5 for both adults and students and are on sale in the school cafeteria, as well as at the door on the night of the event. All proceeds to benefit the scholarship fund.
